I usually feel as if breaks go by sooo fast but this Thanksgiving break felt particularly long. I spent my time hanging out with friends and family and tried planning things every day so I could make the most of the week. I did more shopping this week than I have this whole year and practically bought my whole Wishlist at once. In total I went to the First Colony Mall 2 times, the Galleria, Highland Village, Memorial City Mall, and City Centre in the span of one week and all on different days. Although I do not love shopping as much as I used to, this week I enjoyed it more than I typically do because I actually bought stuff and there were a lot of sales. Most of the stuff I buy is considered Christmas gifts from my parents, although they usually let me have everything right away because I am impatient and would rather have it now than later. My little cousins from California were also in town this week so I spent a lot of time with them and at their hotel. They stayed at the hotel in Town Center so I found myself going there daily and eating at those restaurants frequently. But I am not complaining because I love Town Center and the Christmas decorations right now are very pretty. Something I did that was really fun was that my friends and I took my little cousin Jack to a trampoline park and froyo and it was really fun and I enjoyed spending time with him. On Thanksgiving day I went to my aunt's house and she lives about an hour away in Conroe. It was only my dad's side and is a tradition we do every Thanksgiving day. The food was delicious and I got to catch up with the side of my family I rarely see. On Friday we had a Thanksgiving dinner at my house for my mom's side and it was fun because I also invited some friends and we just hung out and enjoyed the last few days of break.
My parents also (kind of) surprised us with tickets to New York for Christmas break and my sister and I were so excited because it was mostly unexpected and we have always wanted to experience NY in the winter. We are going the day after Christmas because we never miss Christmas dinner at my aunt's and New York is really busy on Christmas Day. However, I see this as a plus because I will get to wear all of my new clothes and gifts on the trip. I am so excited to be able to see all of the places such as Times Square in real life because I have only ever seen it on social media. Over Christmas break, I am also getting my wisdom teeth out which is scary but I am not too nervous after seeing how well my sister recovered and she says that it was not bad. Hopefully, I am mostly recovered and not swollen by the time Christmas and the trip comes around because that would suck. Overall, this year has been my favorite year of my life by far and I am incredibly grateful for all that I have and am given I think that December will be a good end to this year!
